Interview: Frank Turner
Everyone's favourite hardcore superstar, turned folk rock troubadour, Frank Turner talks to Rocklouder.
So, this one requires some explanation.
Not about Frank Turner, because everyone knows who he is.
More about the camera work during the interview. You see, we had two cameras set-up. One HD super high powered, perfectly framed shot of Frank, and our Andy asking the questions. This camera really is the business, the sound is great, the picture is AWESOME. Then, there was a second camera that was operated in a handheld capacity by someone (naming no names, so as not to implicate myself) that we were going to use for the odd cutaway shot. In this vein, it's all shakey, it cuts around all over the shop, and is generally a little bit shit.
Now, we were going to try and claim it was DIY, or punk rock, or something else that got us off the hook and made us look 'down wit the kidz', but alas, that isn't the case.
The real story is: we lost the tape from the main camera. Serious. We're that professional that it's nowhere to be found at Rocklouder HQ, and we're thoroughly distraught about this.
So in brief summation: the camera work in this video looks a bit rubbish, and the sound might not be the usual tip-top standard, but:
a) It's not my fault. Honest.
b) The interview is obviously amazing, so watch it anyway.
Right, now that's all cleared up, Rocklouder presents to you Mr Frank Turner, backstage at the Spitz just before he took to the stage for the UK Softcore Tour's London show a week or two back.
For those not in the know, this was a tour of 4 ex-hardcore singers now playing acoustic folksy stuff. Good, eh?
