Twin Atlantic - Lightspeed

Scotrockers get good, again

Released 1 Mar 2010 // By Chris Leonard // Rating: 4/5
Twin Atlantic - Lightspeed

There’s one thing you can’t deny about Twin Atlantic: the fact that are undoubtedly Scottish. Sam McTrusty has quite possibly the most Scottish singing voice ever, but it’s not some gimmicky put-on accent to set them apart from their peers or to help them achieve the same success as fellow Scots Biffy Clyro, it's genuine and compliments their music perfectly. The edgy, jaggy brand of rock has won them a substantial following across the UK, so much so that after just one mini album and a few singles, they’ll close their forthcoming UK tour at the massive O2 ABC in Glasgow.

‘Lightspeed’ is the third single to be taken from ‘Vivarium’ and see’s them in fine style, it’s catchy and edgy and draws you in immediately. It’s a simple rock song, but with that little something else that elevates it above the rest. Twin Atlantic have already taken massive strides in the last year or so, and if this track, and the rest of ‘Vivarium’ are anything to go by, they’ll continue to do so.
