The Ghost Of A Thousand - Knees, Toes, Teeth

Vocalist Tom Lacey calls this song, their second on Epitaph Records, "a shit storming rock 'n' roll song", which it definitely is. That doesn't make it good, though. Lacey's lyrics are marginally interesting; espousing that rock 'n' roll is their religion, as heaven they'll never know. All of which screams of teenage metal angst put to a backdrop of clichéd riffs and what sounds like a poor pastiche of a good guitar solo.

This tune's purely for the young punks, and those who like Anti-Flag will probably love this mishmash of old and new influences. There's a bit of AC/DC in there, as well as The Hives, whose producer Pelle Gunnerfeldt they share. So keen are this band to follow the Swedes' success that The Ghost Of A Thousand have even aped them on their latest video. Which is better than the actual song. This isn't a terrible record - just one with nothing to single it out from the raft of riff-lead dross around at the moment.
