Get your phones ready, ladies. The Answer are here with their latest single: a ballad featuring vocals sung in a dreamy Northern Irish accent, and it's a perfect ‘sing along at a gig with your glowing LCD mobile screen held high’ material.
Having previously landed a spot on Guitar Hero in 2008, The Answer have already had a taste of success and are hoping to recapture it with this release and new album 'Everyday Demons'. To their merit, the offering's polished and professional sounding, with a well-developed sound that builds perfectly, with romantic vocals sure to draw in the Jack Wills crowd at any festival gigs in 2010. Unfortunately, the oft-neglected ballad is an unusual approach in this musical climate, and it sounds curiously dated.
It may be that future offerings will lean less towards ballads, but whatever they decide it's clear that this 4-piece has talent, we’re just not sure this single is a good reflection of it.
