Sheffield band Pockets Filled With Matches' second EP, the eight track 'If Time Heals You', kicks off in style with 'Failing That' - a sound that’s like the bastard child of Forward Russia and The Long Blondes.
Elsewhere, 'Wall Of Hands' dials down the angst for bit for a more lyrical slab of rock, and the delightfully named ‘The Assassination of Jean Michel Jarre’ thankfully doesn’t consist of the dying screams of the keyboard wonder, instead coming over all Pretty Girls Make Graves. It’s just a shame that the production on the EP is a little too raw and trebly throughout, but for some that will only add to its charm.
Ones to keep an eye on, no doubt.
