Frank Turner - Poetry For The Deed

Following the success of previous single 'The Road', Frank Turner unleashes ‘Poetry of the Deed’, lifted from the album of the same name. The evolution of Turner's music - a hybrid of traditional folk, rock, and country - is becoming harder and harder to pin down, with ‘Poetry of the Deed’ being no exception, an intriguing and heady mix of ragged punk-folk.

Now complete with accomplished backing band, this bouncy, upbeat and rousing track showcases Turner’s talent not only as a songwriter but as someone with genuine crossover potential. Aside from the instant melody, the ex-Million Dead man's lyrics provide just as much to the overall sound. There's a level of intricacy and intelligence here, and among them a handful of distinct and memorable lines which should serve to indulge that nearly-in-grasp mainstream audience. ‘The Road’ received a good chunk of airtime and success, and this superior follow-up should be no different.
