Enter Shikari - No Sleep Tonight

An impossibly catchy chorus to sing along to, and a mouth-wateringly chunky breakdown

Released 17 Aug 2009 // By Phill May // Rating: 4/5
Enter Shikari - No Sleep Tonight

Enter Shikari’s second album, 'Common Dreads', is a sure-fire contender for album of the year, and ‘No Sleep Tonight’ is just one of a number of tracks perfect to be plucked for a single. This one highlights their more socially motivated leanings “The sun and sea could power us” Reynolds croons, pointing fingers (“And I’m thinking what’s the deal/with the facts that they conceal”) in a more direct, accusational track than the more positive, unifying leanings of ‘Juggernauts’.

Sounds heavy, but this is Enter Shikari, so it’s delivered via an expertly danceable soundtrack, an impossibly catchy chorus to sing along to, and a mouth-wateringly chunky breakdown. This young band have yet again combined intelligence with instant hooks in the way most bands can only dream – and made it look like the easiest thing in the world.
