Broadway Calls - Be All That You Can’t Be

Considering this reviewer covered their sugary-sweet debut album last year, it came as quite a surprise to hear the change in Broadway Calls on their latest single, 'Be All That You Can't Be'. With grittier vocals, their sound isn't any more complex, but where their first album drew easy comparisons to New Found Glory and Green Day, now they sound more like Rise Against - something heightened by the more politically-minded lyrical content (army recruitment). It does mean that they still have some way to go to gain their own identity, but it's a cracking tune and a leap forward in quality from an act beginning to fulfil their potential.
