Biffy Clyro - Many Of Horror
Biffy! Yay!
After the huge success of 2007’s ‘Puzzle’ and last year’s ‘Mountains’, Biffy Clyro returned this year with fifth album ‘Only Revolutions’. As has become regulation for the Scottish trio, the album sees the band move in yet another musical direction, but whilst continuing to maintain that uniqueness that is quintessentially Biffy.
‘Many of Horror’ is the third single to be taken from the new record, and aside from the catchy as hell ‘Bubbles’, this is the strongest track on the whole album. A heartfelt tale of love which evolves from a simple, softly building verse to a huge chorus of stadium rock proportions, it has the potential to be one of Biffy’s biggest singles to date.
However, it's let down by the alternative mix. For some reason, the original album version has been played around with by Jacknife Lee, and whilst it’s still a great track, it is inferior to the album version. And inexplicably so. But, that aside, it's beautiful song which will no doubt become a live favourite for that huge chorus. If it hadn’t have been for the remix, this would have been a comfortable 4/5 score, but it slips to an unfortunate 3.5.
