The Academy Is… - Summer Hair = Forever Young
Holy crap, The Academy Is... are on their third album? It seems like only yesterday they were releasing Almost Here. 'Summer Hair = Forever Young'is the second single from Fast Times At Barrington High, and is further proof that somewhere in TAI HQ is a machine hooked up to William, Adam, Andy and the two Michaels that captures the actual essence of Summer and converts it into perfect slices of guitar pop.
The track also contains a major contradiction; they don't seem to have aged, their sound is still as fresh-faced and excitable as when they first sprang onto our radar, but it's not easy to ignore that their skills at crafting instant, memorable pop has matured a great deal over the last three years... Three years? Really? Either we've lost our perception of the passage of time, or this band just make you feel younger. With or without summer hair.
