Talks are happening to bring 'American Idiot' to cinema screens.
The Green Day musical, featuring songs lifted from the album of the same name, is currently enjoying a successful run on Broadway.
Universal are said to be in negotiation to pick up the rights to the movie version, with acclaimed screenwriter Dustin Lance Black in the picture to work on the screenplay. His previous work includes the Oscar winning Milk, for which he won Best Original Screenplay.
