Billie Joe Armstrong to appear in Green Day’s ‘American Idiot’ musical

Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong is to join the cast of the 'American Idiot' musical.
The musical, based on their 2004 album of the same name and featuring Green Day tracks, is currently running at St James Theatre on Broadway in New York.
Armstrong is to play the role of drug dealer St. Jimmy and will appear in a number of performances from September 28th to October 3rd.
The musical, which debuted in 2009, received mixed reviews from critics when it first opened.
In other Green Day news, the band are rumoured to be working on new material for release in 2011.
