Details of The Rev's death are confirmed
Avenged Sevenfold drummer The Rev died of an accidental drug overdose, it has been confirmed.
Jimmy 'The Rev' Owen Sullivan passed away on 29th December 2009, aged just 28, and it has only now been confirmed through toxicology reports that he died through a combination of "Oxycodone, Oxymorphone, Diazepam/Nordiazepam and ethanol".
Orange County Deputy Coroner Mitchell Sigal also revealed The Rev suffered from an enlarged heart, which may have contributed somewhat to his death.
The band's manager Larry Jacobson commented: "To all of us who loved Jimmy, the only thing relevant about December 28 is that is the night we lost, too soon, a son, brother, friend and one of the most talented artists in the world".
Avenged Sevenfold decided to continue after The Rev's death, and Mike Portnoy from metallers Dream Theater is taking over drum duties on their forthcoming summer tour.
