HIM, Manchester Apollo
Who needs hypnosis? It seems HIM have the kids under their spell all on their own.
HIM fans are nothing if not devoted to the cause. Manchester is about as grim as 'up north' can get, and yet by the time Ville Valo and co hit the stage, the atmosphere is approaching boiling point.
They're not dissapointed. A stage filled with candles, gothic regalia and a spotlight constantly trained on the frontman, it's enough to make Bam's interior decorator jealous. With a one-two punk of 'Buried Alive By Love' and 'Rip Out The Wings Of A Butterfly', the roof of the Apollo could well be halfway to Mars. By the time it comes back, we're treated to a goosebump inducing 'Your Sweet 666' and triumphant closer 'The Sacrament'.
