Following a notable lineup change last year, which subsequently saw their pop-rock sound move in a different direction, Cardiff-based Colour of Fashion felt it was only fitting to reinvent themselves completely by stepping out under a new band name.

Formerly known as Working Class Heroes, the Welsh quintet, who sprouted onto the scene in 2005, believe that the recent reincarnation was essential.

“We had new members, new songs and our sound had matured – we thought it would be necessary to change the name to suit the new band,” explains 24-year-old frontwoman Kattie Pearce.

Influenced by the likes of Muse, Michael Jackson, Morrissey, Christina Aguilera and Fall Out Boy, the five-piece are completed by guitarists Matt Clare and Elliot Blake, bassist Tom Brown and drummer Haitham Alhardan. Accordingly, Colour of Fashion are confident that their brand of pop-tinged rock is dynamic and distinctly different.

“There isn't enough pop in this style at the moment, it is all computerised - which I love - but we are the real deal. We play and write all of our own songs and love doing what we do,” Pearce says.

Having just recorded a few new tunes, which will be released via the band’s Facebook and Myspace pages, the South Walians have been impressing punters with their live performances.

“Our live shows are always energetic and full of life,” enthuses Pearce.

“We love performing live so we really make the most of it – people can expect to have fun and enjoy some awesome music,” she continues.

Colour of Fashion play 12th March at Bridgend Hobos with Attack! Attack! A nationwide tour is planned for later this year.
