The Hot Melts
We caught up with our favourite new band!
We took the time this week to catch up with our favourite new band - The Hot Melts.
Their UK tour starts tonight in Brighton, where they play on a rotating headline bill with Canterbury and This City. Click here for dates, details and ticket links.
For the interview, read on below...
Rocklouder: First off, congrats on the new single. We love it and it's been on repeat for about 2 weeks. Did you record this and the first single as one-offs, or is there an album already done and ready to go?
The Hot Melts:We have an album recorded and ready to go. She will drop in a couple of months!
RL: When and where did you record the album? Who produced it?
THM: We recorded it with Marc McClusky (Cute Is What we Aim For, Farewell) over in Chicago mid last year.
RL: Have you got a date or any details for the release yet?
THM: We have the next single 'Edith' coming out early March and we’ll be releasing the album along with another single after 'Edith'.
RL: What's the deal with your label? Are you signed to Epitaph or do Wonderland licence their bands through them?
THM: Wonderland is an imprint label off Epitaph, they are the freshest new label around. Get on board!
RL: You're about to hit the road with our bro's in Canterbury. The tour's got a pretty sick line-up...You looking forward to it?
THM: We can’t wait to get on the road. We have been sleeping in our studio and playing non-stop. It’s going to be off the hook!
RL: When you're done with the rotating headline tour you've got some dates with The Eagles Of Death Metal coming up... are you guys big fans?
THM: All of us are big Queens Of The Stone Age fans, so to get the chance to rock out with Josh Homme for a week is good times. We have been listening to the new EODM album too, Jesse the singer looks the nuts. It’s going to be a wild one!
RL: Last off, can you give us 5 or so records that you've got on in the van/on your ipods at the moment?
THM: We have been listening to the latest Editors album, M. Ward, Grandaddy, The La's and a dose of Bad Religion.
