Austin garage rockers return with an ace new record.
Everyone in Austin must be hard-wired to be brilliant from birth, because the city is churning out some seriously amazing albums lately. Last year we were going crazy about White Denim's excellent 'Fits' and this year it looks like The Strange Boys' 'Be Brave' will be our 2010 Austin obsession. Now featuring former members of Los Angeles scuzz-punk upstarts Mika Miko, the gang are heading out on tour with Spoon and Deerhunter in the US, before heading to these shores for a series of dates this spring. Ace.
'Be Brave' is the band's second album, released on 25th February via the ever-reliable Rough Trade. If you like shabby garage rock, parping sax and catchy 50s-tinged rock 'n' roll you're in for an absolute treat.
