What’s On The Simple Plan Stereo?

Hey, this is David from Simple Plan.
I wanted to tell you guys about what records we're listening to at the moment.
In Simple Plan, obviously we listen to a lot of different music, but I'm probably the one that listens to the most music. Like, everytime we're on a plane or whatever, I've always got my Ipod on. It's my lifesaver from all those really loud noisy environments. Right now i'm obsessed with this girl Canadian singer 'and her name is Feist. I really really like her. I actually went to see her play a show recently, and she was really really good. Actually, i've got a funny story for you... some of my best friends play in a band called The Stills. They're from Montreal , and they've been touring with Kings Of Leon quite a bit, and actually, Liam the piano player for The Stills played all the piano on our new record. He's the most talented piano playerIi know, and you know, he was really happy when we called him up and he came and hung out and played a lot of piano for us. So anyway, I went on Feist's bus, and asked her if I could use the bathroom on the way out. She probably didn't know I was in a band or whatever, and that made it even funnier, '˜cause when I came out I said 'œoh my god, that's my first time taking a shit on a bus', and you're not supposed to do that on a tour bus so you should've seen her face! And then obviously Liam told her 'œthis guy has been in a bus more than all of us have put together'. It was actually really funny. But let me tell you, I'm really obsessed with her record right now, it's very calm and relaxing... the perfect plane record.
Other than Feist, I'm obsessed with the Kaiser Chiefs. You know what? I discovered them about two and a half years ago when I Predict A Riot was a free download on Itunes and then I checked them out and I loved them and we ended up playing a show with them in Japan 2 years ago and I hung out with them. I actually saw them again in Montreal about 6 months ago... they're all really really nice guys... they're so cool. It was very refreshing, I really like the record as it sounded really fresh and it was fun.
So i guess i'm the one that's mostly obsessed with English music like that and Hard Fi. Me and Sebastien love hard fi and Jeff has been listening to them too, so the new Hard Fi record is definitely one of the records that we've been kicking around for sure. It's just like, they remind me of The Clash, but still they make the stuff their own. It's not like some bands when they're ripping stuff off like bands can, but they've just got a really good influence , but still have their own sound.
My other record that I've really been listening to a lot is the new Paramore record 'Riot!. We took them on tour about 2 years ago, and they were such nice kids. The drummer, Zac, was 15 years ol at the time and he was so fucking rocking... and Hayley has a really good voice. She can really sing her arse off live. We've been listening to the new record a lot, and you know what, they're doing so good right now in the States. We've definitely been playing that record quite a bit.
