We wanna tell you about 2 of our favourite bands that are gonna make it huge in 2008!
The bands are Paramore and the Plain White T's.
In Simple Plan, we believed in these two bands over two and a half years ago. We brought both the bands to open for our American tour at different times.
We just love to cover bands that we love and bring them on tour. We had the chance to go on tour with Green Day and Blink 182 years ago, and it was the coolest thing in the world to go on tour with bands you admired and loved so much, and it was always so much fun! I sang with Paramore on this one song on tour, and I got to play drums with Plain White T's on one song. It was so exciting, and the guys were all really really nice.
The Paramore song I played with them was off the first record. It's called 'Whoa', and I sang the part with them where they get the crowd to sing all the 'Whoa's' with them. It was really fun just to see all their energy onstage. They're just so eager to play for the world. I guess the biggest challenge when you're a band is to keep that energy going after several years, but I saw them this summer and they still have that same energy that they had 2 years ago, so it's very refreshing.
Most of us would actually love to go back on tour with these guys! It would be an even more kickass full package tour... it'd be kinda like a reunion tour! We all had a great time with them on tour. They're so much fun to be hanging with and it's just nice... you know, there's so much positive energy backstage. It makes it all fun!
