Artist Of The Year: #3 - Future Of The Left

When great bands break up you hope that at least one of their number will return with something that equals or even surpasses that quality you so admired... of course it very rarely happens and when classic bands die, what usually follows is an embarrassment and perhaps a corpse.

Not the case though, with Mclusky. Having gone their seperate ways in '05, Andy Falkous and Jack Egglestone returned with their new band featuring ex-Jarcrew man Kelson, leaner, tighter, fitter and happier (ok well the last two are a lie).

2007 saw a tremendous series of singles and live shows culminating both in the release of their stone cold classic debut album 'Curses' and a string of ferocious live dates that left all who witnessed them scraping their drool off the floor.

Angular rock music never sounded so tuneful, pop never sounded so abrasive, and we never had it so good.

Look out for our in-depth interview with frontman Andy Falkous, coming very soon on Rocklouder.
