Violet Violet

Who?
Violet Violet are Cheri (guitar/vocals), Kylie (bass/vocals) and Fliss (drums/vocals).

What's the Deal?
Based in Norwich, this trio of feisty females play their own unique brand of shouty girl pop. It's the stripped-down DIY sound at its best, a raw but potent cocktail of energetic riffs and frenetic drum-beats. Not to mention a triple-layered vocal assault that blasts out bad-mouthed banter on all manner of subject matter; from boys best forgotten to messy nights out and much more. All of course, recalled in the signature smart and sassy VV style. With a loyal and long established following on their local scene, they have more recently been causing a stir further afield - NME have described their live shows as "something quite special", and they have also received airplay from a raft of radio DJs including Steve Lamacq and Huw Stephens.

Will I Like It?
If your CD collection already contains the likes of Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Be Your Own Pet and Sleater-Kinney then Violet Violet are bound to go down a treat with you.

What's Next?
Their debut album 'Bitchbox' is out now on NROne Records and they'll be performing a string of gigs up and down the country to celebrate its release. You can see them at the following live dates:

August
25 Half Moon, London

September
13 Hope & Anchor, London
21 The Roadhouse, Manchester
