Introducing to you one of the finer band's from New England. Therefore I Am are from Boston, and they're awesome!
Who?
Hailing from Boston, Massachusetts, Alex Correia (vocals), Brian Marquis (guitar/vox), Jim Creighton (bass/vox), Travis Alexander (guitar/vox) and Chris Fernandes (drums/percussion) make up the fantastic Therefore I Am.
What's the deal?
A true bored-suburb band, Therefore I Am formed in 2004, quickly gaining a long list of fans in the local area, they cut their first demo in August 2005, quickly following with the 'The Modern World, A Battlefield' EP in the winter of the same year. A split seven inch was released alongside Vanna in early 2006
Will I Like it?
We're going to say one word, and request you don't run away once we do. OK, ready? 'Emo'. No, really, these are songs about fucked-up alcoholics losing their girl rather than singing about some fool named Sugar. Therefore I Am's branch of emo is far more inline with the Post-Hardcore likes of Funeral For A Friend, although like their Welsh contemporaries Therefore I Am easily make the genre all their own. What's Next?
If you're lucky enough to be on the other side of the pond to the Rocklouder offices, we strongly suggest checking these guys out live so you can report back to us if they're as good visually live as the hush-hush-wink-wink live rips sound. There's also a new CD, 'Escape', on the way '“ and we think it'd be a good idea to pick up as many of these self-released CDs as possible, because as soon as these lads are signed, they'll be massive.
