Alert: The Down & Outs
Cheeky, urgent, and just waiting to take over the world.
Who?
The Down & Outs are a Glasgow-based ball of rock & roll spirit also known as Clark (vox / guitar), Ross (guitar), Craig (bass) and Jak (drums).
What's The Deal?
They're cheeky, urgent, and just waiting to take over the world. Don't be fooled by their loveable exterior, these lads mean business. Like their fellow Scotsman Franz Ferdinand, The Down & Outs make music to make girls dance, though unlike Franz they stop gigs halfway through in order to run into the crowd to find a waltzing partner.
Will I Like It?
Their sound is a weird mix between the r&b of the sixties and the punk of the seventies, with a bit of Britpop lust and modern-day complaining thrown in. Fans of The Who, The Libertines and The Buzzcocks should start taking notes...
What's Next?
Signed to Social Club Records at the start of the summer, murmers of a debut single titled 'Julie Andrews' have been wandering around for awhile and will probably turn up in the new year - keep your ears up and get it while you can, it'll be a collectors item six months later.
