Who?
Former frontman of the ill-fated Golden Virgins, Lucas Renney finally gave up the ghost – and his bandmates – in 2006, and went it alone.
What's The Deal?
There's no sign of the punkier side of his former project here, it's all heartfelt hushed tones of a man and his guitar. Emotional, guttering, amazing.
Will I Like It?
If you were a fan of The Golden Virgins' colder, quieter tracks then he's still your man, while fans of the more smoking-and-suicide genre, held together by greats such as Leonard Cohen and The Smiths will want him more than anything as the new figurehead for their side.
What's Next?
Recently signed to Psychotic Reaction, Renney is currently in process of recording some songs for release. In the meantime, he stretches his muscles with dates in London and Newcastle:
