Kolo

Who?
A three-piece Indie-pop band from Essex, formed by schoolmates Jon (vox / guitar), Mark (bass / keyboard) and Ryan (drums) in the summer of 2005.

What's the deal?
Heavily influenced by such artists as The Jam, Nick Cave, Stereophonics and Beverly Craven, the lads have taken the best bits of their favourite music, twisted it, turned it and added a secret blend of 11 Kolo herbs and spices to create an aural indulgence. There's pretty much something for everyone held within the 5 tracks of their debut EP 'Normandy House', which they self released and distributed free... Yes, free!

Will I like it?
If you're into upbeat music guaranteed to get you dancing no matter what, but also like a bit of sentiment in your favourite songs, you're onto a winner with Kolo. If that doesn't sway you, then perhaps the prospect of getting a cd for nothing might be enough to change your mind.

What's next?
Maybe, if you ask very nicely, you might just be able to nab your very own copy of 'Normandy House' but if not, the stand out track 'Cambodia' is available for a listen on their myspace page.

With a new EP Planned for the Spring, 2007 could be the best year for Kolo so far. We highly doubt the lads will stay without a record deal much longer, so remember this when they're plastered all over MTV, you heard them here first!
