Alert: Farewell
Epitaph's latest signings to hit the UK have instantly become our new favourite band!
Rocklouder brings you... Farewell!
Who Are They?
Farewell are a 6-piece powerpop-punk band from North Carolina in the States. They consists of Marshall Davis (vocals), Kevin Carter (guitar), Wil Andrews (guitar), Buddy Bell (bass), Jeff Ellis (drums), and Chris Lee (keys/backing vox).
What's The Deal?
They're one of Epitaph's latest signings, and as you know, that alone guarantees that they're pretty fucking good. They've been together since 2004 touring as much as they can, and were then spotted by Bad Religion's (and Epitaph owner) Brett Gurewitz who snapped them up. Their debut album 'Isn't This Supposed To Be Fun' was released in North America on September 25th last year (2007), and now it's getting released in the UK in the next few weeks. February 4th to be precise.
Will I Like It?
Well, you should! If you're a fan of any of the Epitaph stable then that's a good start, and fans of any of the synth-tinged pop punk bands that are going on in the States at the moment are sure to get it. Off the top of our head we'd liken it to Motion City Soundtrack, Forever The Sickest Kids, The Higher, and maybe a bit of Hellogoodbye thrown in for good measure.
What's Next?
With the UK release of the album imminent, touring over here is sure to follow, though no dates are confirmed as yet. For now you'll have to make-do with the upcoming interview on Rocklouder! It'll be along shortly...
