A Woman Of No Importance

Who?
Named after Oscar Wilde's legendry play, A Woman Of No Importance (or awoni as they are commonly known) are a seven-piece acoustic outfit from Seaham Harbour, containing (are you ready for this?): Marc (vox / guitar / glockenspiel), Matt (vox / guitar / wineglasses / melody harp / button melodian), Andrew (drums), Rye (bass), Sarah (vox / cello / toy piano), Clare (violin), and Catherine (viola).

What's The Deal?
Marc and Matt originally started out as a two-piece with acoustic guitars, and over time their modest outfit has grown, with each added member helping them sound more beautiful than they did before.

Will I Like It?
If you're a fan of the likes of Gomez and Belle & Sebastian, hold tight as you've found your new favourite band. Acoustic guitars are played instead of electrics with the excuse that "they’re pretty", meanwhile the ingenious rig up Matt created to manipulate wine glasses as you would usually do with pianos or electric guitars is like nothing you've ever heard before.

What's Next?
If you're quick you might still be able to grab one of 500 limited split seven inches with fellow northerners Shin Jin Rui, containing the fantastic 'Your Insecurities Ring Out (In His Name)'. A third demo - simply titled 'Demo 3' for now, has also just been finished, and should be available to download pretty soon. If you're lucky enough to live up north you can also catch one of their live dates before they explode.
