Album Preview: Bullet For My Valentine
Rocklouder was invited to take an exclusive listen to the much awaited new Bullet For My Valentine record...
On The 28th of January, Bullet For My Valentine will unleash their 2nd album 'Scream Aim Fire' to the UK. What a 2nd album too! After being dubbed one of the best bands to come out of the UK by many, and with immediate success in the USA the album has a lot to live up to.
The release date has been stretched further a few times and fans are itching to get a taste of what's to come. Rocklouder was lucky enough to be invited to the exclusive album playback at The Intrepid Fox in London last week.
The Album starts hard, the impact is overwhelming. Immediately the sheer pace of first track 'Scream Aim Fire' causes your body to generate more adrenaline than it did on your last bungee jump. Even air drummers will struggle to keep up with Michael 'Moose' Thomas. Also noticable is that Matt's vocals have changed, he seems more natural, and when confronted about it his slightly drunken reply was that he's just going with the flow. The harder and faster style continues for the first half of the album and when it does calm, don't expect to loose your rush, the powerful ballads and clever breaks will uplift you and keep your ears pinned, listening to every word and note. The second half of the album holds more of a resemblance to 'The Poison' which is surprising as Matt mentioned that 'Scream Aim Fire' was the first track written for the new album.
Everyone listened intently to the whole album, some so much that they didn't even get up to get a picture taken with the band or even say hello. The infectious rhythm throughout had even the parents of competition winners tapping their feet. The 70 or so crowd who got to be there seemed pleased with the cheeky welsh four piece's new product.
If the fans bite on to this juicy bate then it could change the face of mainstream metal as we know it.
Check back to Rocklouder later in the week to read our interview with the band, as we had an in depth chat with them in the wake of hearing the new record!
