Future Of The Left - Manchasm
Artist profile:
Future Of The Left
Release Date: 07/04/08
Label: Too Pure
Rating: *****
The fourth single from Future Of The Left’s excellent 'Curses' début is possibly the best yet, pairing two of their keyboard-laced explosions of noise with a more mellow B-side ('Sum Of All Parts').
The single itself is a prime example of why FOTL are such an exciting prospect, ‘Manchasm’ has no commercial hook, fits no particular genre or scene, yet is instant, insistent and everything a good single should be - even including the line "All he ever wanted was a detonator", that you'll find yourself shouting throughout the day whether the song’s on or not.
Backing this is 'Suddenly It's A Folk Song', with its undulating keyboard and huge chorus. together, it forms proof you need Future Of The Left in your collection.
