Supergrass - Diamond Hoo Ha Man
Artist profile:
Supergrass
Release Date: 14/01/08
Label: Parlophone
Rating: *
Supergrass have been trundling down the other side of the mountain for a while now, having peaked extremely early with the fizzing pop of their ‘I Should Coco’ debut and the darker edged excellence of the follow up ‘In It For The Money’.
While a few singles since have had the mark of pop savvy that once was stamped on everything they touched, ‘Diamond Hoo Ha Man’ is, unfortunately, not about to put the breaks on their slow but sure descent.
An extremely retro retread of ‘70s rock that sounds close to pastiche, it’s uninspired, lacking in vitality and has the feel of a band going through the motions in front of a mostly uncaring public.
Stop now, please.
