Album Of The Year 2007: The Top 10!
Artist profile: Future Of The Left

As we look forward to an action packed 2008, with releases from so many of our favourites bands imminent, we've taken a few minutes (preceeded by weeks and weeks of debating and deliberation!) to compile our Albums Of The Year list for 2007.

This is our top 10, and if you want to re-read the review for each album, just hit the link!

Album Of The Year: #1
Future Of The Left - 'Curses'
"Torch the autumn leaves, break the coffee table and join us for a bright, burning winter of punk."

Album Of The Year: #2
Manchester Orchestra - 'I'm Like A Virgin Losing A Child'
"A debut album that can justifiably be termed, a masterpiece."

Album Of The Year: #3
Paramore - 'RIOT!'
"In 'RIOT!', Paramore have again created a successful album, filled to the brim with pop songs that make you want to jump off your sofa, grab a hairbrush, and sing along.

Album Of The Year: #4
The Weakerthans - 'Reunion Tour'
"An unquestionable ‘Album of the Year’ candidate."

Album Of The Year: #5
Enter Shikari - 'Take To The Skies'
"'Take To The Skies' is an exhilarating ride through the unknown... the songs themselves are incredible."

Album Of The Year: #6
Oceansize - 'Frames'
"Warning; this album will seriously harm the health of the rest of your record collection."

Album Of The Year: #7
Frank Turner - 'Sleep Is For The Week'
"Ex-Million Dead frontman Frank Turner surprised everyone with his forray into the folk/acoustic world, but with debut album 'Sleep Is For The Week' now on our shelves, he is about to impress us all.

Album Of The Year: #8
Reuben - 'In Nothing We Trust'
"'In Nothing We Trust' has got to be a showcase of Reuben's most inventive pieces of work to date, reeling off more ideas than most bands do in their entire career."

Album Of The Year: #9
Jeffrey Lewis - '12 Crass Songs'
"Crass were an utterly fantastic band, as Jeffrey Lewis is a great artist. This seemingly incongruous combination of seperate worlds pays off handsomely and rewards with astounding snatches of pure enlightenment.

Album Of The Year: #10
Jakobinarina - 'The-First-Crusade'
"Spiteful, potentially dangerous and terribly addictive, Jakobinarina are a band of the future that we are supremely lucky to have in the present."

With that rounding up 2007, look out for our 'Ones To Watch' article for 2008, hitting your screens very soon!
