Brit-folk troubadour releases massive debut album.
Fresh from touring with his good friend Frank Turner, Beans on Toast releases his credit-crunch busting 50 (yes, 50) track debut album 'Standing On A Chair'.
Comparisons have been made to fellow troubadour Billy Bragg and he certainly follows the tried-and-tested formula of social and political commentary played by a man and his guitar; this time with a sprinkling of sex, drugs and swearing for good measure.
It’s all solid musically, but maybe a little worthy lyrically, and ironically the 50 tracks may have been better spread over more than just one album - ever heard of too much of a good thing? For your politically minded friends this is one helluva bargain purchase, though.
